Craig Westover has penned one of the best columns to date on the effects of the infamous smoking bans, profiling a couple of bartenders at a landmark bar in Northeast Minneapolis. As expected, Bob from the American Lung Association chimed in with his usual denials in the comments. The good Captain lays him out flat near the end:

And you can’t articulate the scientific evidence for the dangers of secondhand smoke -- you can only spit back estimates with no statistical support.
Your cause is just, Bob. Your methods are despicable.

However, when he challenges the medical and scientific evidence that shows the health risks of primary smoking and exposure to secondhand smoke, uses veterans and pulltab charities as pawns in his argument, and tries to makes a martyr out of pro-smoke activists like Sue Jeffers, he shows his true colors.
PS: Like the smoking ordinances, I'm still still standing.
Why don't we ban alcohol and save even more lives?
