Donald Trump Gets Schooled

The finale of the fourth "The Apprentice" ran December 15. Randall edged the up and coming but still just a tad too young Rebecca. As always, Donald Trump had a couple of projects for the new apprentice to pick, and each finalist picked one of them.

During this season, Trump had fired four in one week, two last week. As (co-) Executive Producer, Trump went long, suggesting to Randall that maybe he should hire both of them.

Randall said absolutely not. This was The Apprentice, not The Apprentii. Trump backed down as Rebecca shook her head, losing out a second time in the span of minutes.

Good for Randall! Donald Trump thought he had a good idea, but also had the good sense to realize it really wasn't good business or good TV after all. Besides, Rebecca will do just fine, especially if Trump opens a few doors for her as seems fitting.

This was a good ending to the best of the Apprentices so far.

Too bad Randall showed his true colors by selling out Rebecca. How tacky of him! I lost all respect for him in that last ten seconds. Shame on him. Instead of adding to the prestige of his win by showing loyality to Rebecca he showed himself to be a shamless self promotor.

Rebecca could have done better here also. She could have agreed that tonight is Randall's night, but if you're free for lunch tomorrow Mr. Trump... Regardless, you don't shake your head; you take it like an adult.

Randall showed before that he's a competitor, in fact they both did. Competitors don't like late rule changes unless it's a game like Survivor where the rules are always changing.

Good for Randall. Loyalty does not include stupidity. I have not yet seen the finale but based on previous finales I am assuming that Randall would have already explained why Trump should not hire Rebecca. How stupid would it be to say, "yes, hire her" after explaining why she should not be hired?

Second, Trump has shown an intolerance for misplaced exposure. Remember when the one guy put aside his immunity to show Trump he's willing to take responsibility? Trump rewarded him by firing him for making that stupid decision.

During the whole season I could not believe that Rebecca actually made it that far. I thought she was a fairly weak canidate. From the beginning I had my money on Randall. He was head &shoulders above the rest.

Bottom line: Good for Randall for saying No to Rebecca.
